I visited the Museum of Mathematics today. This is a playground for the math set. I confess that I wasn’t the best math student so I was a little intimidated to participate in all the fun exhibits they have here. “MoMath will engage folks from 105 to 5 years old (and sometimes younger), but with a special emphasis on activities for 4th through 8th graders.” They have math art too!
There is lots of hands on fun for kids and math geeks alike.
The staff was friendly and always happy to show you how the exhibits worked.
When I first saw this ring I though maybe it was a place where math fights were settled but it is called Robot Swarm. You wear a special backpack and the robots will follow you around. Fun!

A little boy and I spent some time figuring out how to get the beavers to meet at the dam. You turn knobs to change the track Beaver run is one of the most well known exhibits at the museum. Here are the beavers meeting at the dam.
Monkeys and Math go hand in hand at MoMath a perfect combo for the Year of the Monkey.

I highly recommend a trip to the MoMath. Bring your thinking cap and a kid too if you have one. Math is fun at Mo Math. Admission fees are Adult $ 15.00 Toddler $ 0.00 Child $ 9.00 Student $ 9.00 Senior $ 9.00. They also have a fantastic gift shop. Something for everyone. I came away with these goodies.
Stay tuned for my next adventure.
