So in the wake of Donald Trump’s election I felt a wide range of emotions from despair to anger. Now I am at a place of it’s time to get involved and make sure that my voice is reflected in the next 4 years. I haven’t been visiting museums because I have been woking on an event. The Anti Inaugural Ball is not a Trump bashing event even though the name has Anti in it. This is an evening put together by a group of like-minded professionals, activists, students and artists, joining together to make a difference in the world around us. It’s going to be a long four years but we’ll get there in one piece, if we join together in purposeful action. 1460 Days of Action to be exact. We see hope for the future of the Democratic party so that is why we have chosen to benefit The New American Leaders Project, who is leading a movement for inclusive democracy by preparing first and second generation Americans to use their power and potential in elected office and The New Leaders Council who recruit, train and promote the next generation of progressive leaders. There is hope and it’s because so many wonderful people have decided to get involved. That is something worth smiling about. Join us in NYC or host your own, the most important thing is to take action. I will have more on that later. So while I will be visiting museums, I will also be encouraging all of you to take action to make sure that we are heard. Women’s rights are human rights, immigration and religious freedom are what this country was founded on, climate change is real and making sure our LBGTQ friends and family members aren’t marginalized over the next four years. Stay tuned….
